"The Dine-and-Dash Dater" was awarded Best in Fest at the Strasberg Film Festival 2020 in March. It was also nominated for Best Director and Best Screenplay. Mafalda Pinto Correia was nominated for Best Actress and Sarah Barnett and Olya Mikhaylova were both nominated for Best Supporting Actress. In April, it was a finalist for Best Indie Short at the New York International Film Awards.
This is one of Q&A Films' most promising projects to date. It's also the premiere picture of Fish in a Top Hat Film Collective, Inc. The film is based on the true story of Paul Gonzales, or the serial 'Dine-and-Dash Dater'. The comedy follows his latest victim, a fictional character named Sofie. Humiliated and left with a massive bill over dinner, she teams up with her ditsy roommate and a fellow outraged victim to take him down.
